Major Events of the Last 6 Months

I think it is official that I fail at blogging. It has been close to 6 months since I last posted. I often forget that I actually have a blog.

Thankfully the major things that have happened in my life since my last adventure-full post fit on a short list.

1. I turned 21!

I brought my friend Michelle home with me for the weekend to help me celebrate my birthday. We went to a rock'n boy band concert. I am pretty sure we were the oldest people there who did not have children with them. I was pretty fun and a little girl in front of us offered to share some of her candy with us. But…I wish I picked a different band to go see for my fist concert. This is us making goofy faces.

On my actually birthday, me and my roommates went to Chilies and ordered some Margaritas, Pina coladas and Strawberry dackeries. It was awesome! I recommend that everyone younger than me do it for their 21^st birthday. The best part was that the waiter was really confused that we were all ordering virgin drinks on our 21^st birthdays. :D Every time he came to check on us he would mention how stupid it was.

2. Two of my cousins got married

My first cousin to get married was dear old Jo-Jo. Diane, Allison, Granny, Mandy and I all drove up to SLC to be there for Jordyn’s wedding. Boy was that a long car ride. We got there just in time for the wild and crazy bachelorette party. We got lots of weird looks from the old men in the bowling alley cause we were making so much noise. This is Jordyn and I in the stellar limo Mandy got for us.

And the next cousin of mine to tie the not was Birttny. She got married on April 6^th. Even though it was a Wednesday she was really excited to get married on such an important day in church history. Her dress was so beautiful! And she was probably the most passive bride I have ever seen. She had an outside wedding reception and it rained almost all nigh but she didn’t seem to care one bit.

I didn’t get a picture with me and the bride but this is a pretty good alternative. This is Me, Afton, and Jeni at the themple in our bride’s maids dresses.

3. I left Flagstaff and moved to Utah.

At last my time in Flagstaff has come to an end. I have moved out of my apartment and I am never going to be a part of Flagstaff University 2nd ward ever again. I can’t tell you why I decided to move up to Utah for the summer but the important thing is that I am here. My original plan was to get a job and pay off some of my debt. But getting a job wasn’t as easy as I had hoped. So I gave up looking. Now I sit around at home all day reading books and watching TV. Utah is beautiful though and I am very happy I am not in that awful AZ heat (I laugh at all my family stuck in AZ right now. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA)!

Life is an Adventure

This past weekend was vary adventure-full for me. :D It was crazy busy but I had a blast!

Thursday: HARRY POTTER ADVENTURE!
My roommates and I went to go see Harry Potter 7 at midnight on Thursday night. We drank hot chocolate while we waited in line, and I summarized the entire Harry Potter series up to book 7 for them. And we took a whole bunch of random crazy pictures waiting for the movie to start. :P

This picture is a good example when your roommate says"Ok everyone make your Harry Potter face!" Yeah...we are just that awesome.

Friday: CANDY LAND ADVENTURE!
On Friday Flagstaff had their girl ask guy winter formal and it was a blast! My roommates and our dates went ice skating, went to Peter Piper Pizza and played the arcade games and then danced the night away at the institute. It is so fun to have an excuse to put a pretty dress on and forget about everything you have to do.

Saturday: WEDDING ADVENTURE!

Saturday was Cherise's wedding! I woke up at 5:30 and drove down to the valley so I could be at the temple when Cherise came of of the temple with her new husband. Then we had a family luncheon where there was A LOT of singing and preforming (I'm not complaining, the talent was really good, but sometimes I would just like to eat my food and not worry about focusing on anything else). Then I hurry quick and took a nap and got all pretty and magically transformed into a brides maid. The reception was so much fun and my sisters has a new last name.Look at these cute kids! Way to go Raisors!

I caught the bouquet and Dallin in caught the garder. Good thing we are siblings other wise I would be in trouble.

Can I just say that I love my sisters?

Sunday: EVERY DAY ADVENTURE!
My little baby cousin Jacob was blessed on Sunday. We had another luncheon but this time there was not singing, only good food. Then I finished my day in pure relaxation...until I got in my car to go home. Mom had me get out and give her a good bye hung and with out thinking I left my car running and locked all the doors! YAY! One hour, a dented door, and a broken window later we finally got the door open!!!!! And we didn't even to have to call a lock smith. Thank goodness for Hans', Larry's, screw drivers, and very long pols. Then I went and had dinner with my daddy. It was much fun to catch up with him. Then I was back on the road to Flagstaff and I am so happy I didn't die on the snow covered roads. I almost lost control there for a second and swerved into a semi but I was able to not to. :D

YAY for a life full of ADVENTURE(!) with out it life would be just to boring.

I Heart My Family!

I would just like to say that I really really love my family! They make me really happy. I was just looking at old pictures today and realized how much I miss them. I will be sad to leave my new (awesome) roommates but I can't wait till I am back in the valley to be with them again! I got my student teaching placement the other day and I will be teaching at Marcos de Niza next semester! YAY! And then I get to be back in the valley with my family! :D

Julia is so awesome! Mom asked her to cut green onions so she went to her room and put her goggles on so the onions wouldn't make her eye water. :D She is so clever and cute!

My brother and sister are just awesome! Hans likes to randomly pick up my phone or my camera and take goofy pictures of himself. :D Elise makes some pretty silly faces every time I ask her to take a picture with me.

Mud Caves!

If you ever have the urge to go roll around in the mud go visit the Pepper Sauce caves. It is a good excuse for adults to get a little dirty. Oh, and make sure you bring Jeni so she can throw mud at you so you can be exceptionally dirty.

I'm Just a Kid and Life is a Nightmare

Why is it that everything falls apart right before finals? This past week has felt like an eternity. On Monday of last week my roommates declared that they couldn't pay for May rent and wanted to know if you could get out of our month to month lease with only a 5 days notice. I doubted it but they still made me call up the realty office and find out. What do you know you have to give a months notice in order to get out of you lease, big shocker there! So now my roommates had to figure out how they were going to pay for May cause they couldn't get out of the lease. And I kinda got chewed out by my landlord for not having all the residents on the lease (I know not good but I have learned my lesson) and told me that my roommates needed to get on the lease ASAP. But then my roommates had a thought..."Why pay for May and go through the hassle of getting on the lease if I am not not legally bound? I will just pack up and leave as fast as I can and leave my two unsuspecting roommates to deal with rent on their own! What a good idea." And all these thoughts were being encouraged by their parents. Nice to know what type of people are out there raising kids.

So on Tuesday I was gone all day at class/work and when I got home at 9 two of my roommates were packing up and moving out! Well that's not good. One said I am still going to pay for my part of May and the other one said F*** you, I don't have any F***'n money and you guys are terrible people for expecting my to pay.

Then on Wednesday, most of there stuff was gone but they still had to come back and get the big stuff. So me an the one roommate who didn't decide it was OK to turn tail and run from her responsibilities were watching a movie with a friend and they com back over to get their stuff and bring help. We are watching a movie and they are deserting us so we don't ask if we can help and just let them be. As they were finishing we asked for them to turn in their key and pay the $8 for the APRIL utility bill. Apparently this was really rude and 5 mins later one of the before mentioned roommates' cousins (who we have never seen before in our lives) comes back to give us a piece of her mind. If this would have been recorded it would be rated R, she must have said the F word 10 time. It went something like this..."I brought your keys back but before I give them to you have to listen to me. You guys are being so rude to my cousin. I don't want you any where near her. Do not talk to her do not ever try to contact her ever again. You guys are not the good little Mormon girls you think you are. How dare you try to swindle my cousin out of her money." My roommate didn't like this and threatened to call the cops on her if she didn't get out. And all this happened with our movie playing and our gust sitting on the couch listening to us get cussed out. OK lady we have never met who needs to wash her mouth out with soap, the cousin you are defending shirking her responsibilities and as a result making us pay an extra $300 for rent and all we are asking for is $8. And if we are canceling our lease then the land lord is going to ask us for all the keys back cause what home owner is going to be fine with the face that some random person they don't know has a key to their house?!?!? Maybe you should think before you speak.

The on Thursday the third roommate packed up and left too. But she did it with so much more class! She apologized for not being able to pay, scrubbed the bathtub till it gleamed, and said that we did not deserve what the others had said/done to us. She even thought about taking a dramatic picture of her leaving the key :D It is a wonder that the only roommate who did not act like we were in the wrong was the only one who is not affiliated with the church in any way. Just goes to show that people aren't always what they say they are.

Everything is fine now. Our land lord didn't seem to care as long as he got his money. And we signed the termination of our lease and have to be out by May 31st but that doesn't even matter because I am leaving on Saturday anyways. I payed $465 to live in Flagstaff for a week.

So in this past week me and the one roommate of mine who did not turn out to be a "money grubbing whore" or a scumbag watched a lot of movies to get our mind of things and ate lots of comfort food. We also picked two theme songs that describe our mood perfectly.

Graduation?

My friend Michelle Harden graduated form institute today. Yesterday she was venting to me about how her roommate wasn't going to go to her graduation and that it made her really sad. So I decided I would be a good friend and go to support her. When I got there they handed me a program and glanced at it and didn't pay much attention to it till Michelle turned to me and said "Look your on the program!" So tonight I went to institute graduation to support a friend and ended up getting a certificate for completing 2 years of institute credits. That is like saying, "Surprise! Here is you Associates Degree!"(well not really, but I was still pleasantly surprised)Yay me! :P

Happy Birthday Me!

Monday was my birthday and it was AWESOME! Thanks to all my wonderful family. :D On Friday I got to go play with Maddy and the boys I was a nanny for. Then on Saturday Jeni and I went rock climbing in Scottsdale. It was so much fun and I got a pretty awesome bruise on my knee from banging it up against the wall. The when I got out to Queen Creek we had pizza, went to the temple, and then had an ice cream party. Then on Sunday we had a huge party with LOTS of family! And Sunday night Dallas and Natalie saved me from boardom on my birthday and took me to home with them. If they hadn't brought me back to Flagstaff I would have spent my birthday by myself! Anyway... we had a midnight waffle party and they blew up their new air mattress for me.

Then on Monday, my 20th birthday, we made a cake and used a candy cane stick for a makeshift candle. Then we went hiking. It was the perfect level of hard...right when I was about to give up there was the summit! Next we went to the Cheese Cake factory cause I had never been there before. It was really good and the cheese cake was delicious. Then we went out to Anthem outlets and met up with Katie and her kids. I didn't buy anything but it was fun to watch Katie's kids play. Then we were on out way to Flagstaff. When we got back to my apartment we red-boxed Julie and Julia then Dallas and Natalie headed back around 10:30. I had so much fun...and it was way better than last years birthday! :D

I am not going to even try to catch up on everything I have missed in the last 3 or 4 months but you can trust that I went on living and had a good time doing it.

<3 :D :P !!!

First of all, I heart Jordyn! I am so happy we decided to live together this semester. It is amazing how many times are minds have just "melshed." We say the same things, and sing the same songs, it is just great! And yesterday Jordyn and I bonded even more and I will post pictures to prove it! :D Second, last night was the girl ask guy institute formal...SO MUCH FUN! They have a dance once a semester and I didn't go to either of them last year and I missed out! It was a blast. So pretty much, my Friday the 13th was awesome!

All I have to say is that we had so much fun being really goofy, and outrageous. We clean up nicely, and I think we both looked very good last night! :D

My Frightening Halloween

Yesterday was Halloween and probably the most eventful Halloween I have ever had and will ever have. For those family and friends who I did not call personally and tell you this story I am sorry. I have already told this story 5 times today, and heard it told 5 times by each of my roommates. I am kinda tired of telling it :P.

So last night my roommates and I didn't to much of anything. We just had a few people come over and hang out like they always do. The last of our friends, Remy and his sister Brittany, were about to leave at 2:00am but as they were walking out of our apartment they saw a drunk man trying to get into the apt across from us. So they decided not to go and give him a few more mins to walk into his apt. A few mins later they open the door again and he is throwing up over the railing. GROSS! So our friends decide to stay a little longer. Then out of no where the drunk man opens to door to our apartment and tries to start going up our stairs!!!! Luckily for us Remy has had a few jobs in bars and knew how to handle drunks. So first he tried to talk to him and convince him to get out of our apartment. The dress man, that is what we are calling him because he was still in his Halloween costume which was a low cut, pink floral dress (he even stuffed his shirt with a beanie) Anyway, the dress man was insisting that he was in his apartment. When Remy realized that the dress man was not going to go anywhere on his own free will he started pushing him out the door. Dress man was about 6'2'' and was not skinny by any means. He was built big and I wouldn't be surprised if he played football. Remy is about 5'10'' and is not very bulky...Remy almost got him out and closed the door but dress man had his foot in the doorway. Remy stopped trying when he realized he couldn't not over power him. So he let go of the door and the dress man fell face first onto our floor. He was not very happy after that. Then he started saying something about how his girlfriend just lived two doors down and that is where he was trying to go. So he walked through our apartment and went onto our balcony. As soon as he was outside we locked the door behind him and called the cops.

While he was locked out side we got the our roommate out of her bedroom cause the dress man was trying to get back into the house through her bedroom window!!! We all got upstairs with Brittany as our protector and waited for the cops. When dress man saw the cops coming he jumped off our balcony and ran away!!! We weren't sure at first if he jumped off or if he went into the apt that shares out balcony but the cops found two foot prints in the rocks just below our balcony. They also found, on out balcony one of the beanies dress man used to stuff his shirt. So the cops took it and are gong to use it to help them catch him. But to our knowledge, the cops never found him.

After he ran away, one of the officers came back and had us all fill out statements. I have never filled out a statement before and I am still not sure if I did a good enough job. It took me about 15mins and Remy and his sister 45mins. But as the statements were being filled out the officer, officer Newberger, cracked jokes and made us all laugh. I am very thankful for law enforcement and I am also very thankful that Remy and Brittany were over. I don't know what we would have done if they hadn't have been there to protect us. Other than Remy hurting his had while trying to push dress man out of the apartment we are all safe.

The cops didn't leave our apartment till 3:30am and after that no one really could go to sleep. So we decided that we were NOT going to fast today and made hot chocolate and waffles. Then we watched While You Were Sleeping. Sleep didn't catch up to us till 6:30am. I slept in the living room that night cause being alone in my room did not sound like much fun to me. Then we all woke up around 8, got ready and went to church at 9. We stayed for sacrament meeting and then went back home catch up on sleep. Surprisingly enough no one slept past 1. So our whole apartment was functioning on 3 1/2 hours of sleep today.

Even in spite of it all, I still find it rather comical that the man was wearing a dress. Also, one more thing to laugh about that came from the whole situation is that we had one roommate who slept through EVERYTHING! She had gone to bet around midnight and sleeps with earplugs and she hardly even stirred. For a few mins all 6 of us girls were inches away from her trying to stay out of reach of the dress man. There was even a time where there were 7 medics and 3 cops in out apartment and she didn't even wake up! Then today, we told the story a million different time and I just got tired of saying the same thing over and over again. So once again, sorry family and friends who didn't get a phone call.

Don't worry too much, our door will now be locked 24-7!

I am addicted

Last Thursday was a fateful day. At first it just seemed like a normal average day. I went to class, read my scriptures, did my HW (haha jk Hannah doesn't ever do her HW). It didn't start until after work. I had just spent the last 4.5 hours slaving away taking peoples orders and getting fruit smoothies splashed all over me. I was sitting on the stool with Jordyn next to me and all of a sudden, out of thin air, my roommate Brittiny says "I am going to walk down to Hastings and rent the first season of Heros." Inside my soul gave out a cry of anguish (actually I was very verbal about it) "NO!!! I can't start watching another TV show!!! Once I start I won't be able to get back to my life until I have seen them all." Sure enough that is EXACTLY what happened. I stayed up till one that night, the next night (Friday) I was up till 12 and then Saturday I would not let myself rest until 2:30--finishing the first season of course. If only it had ended at that, the same roommate who drug me into this obsession, bought all three seasons and we continued to waist our life away in front of the TV. To our credit, we exhibited great self control and waited till Thursday night to unleash the DVDs sitting innocently on the shelf. By last night at midnight my roommates and I had made our way through all the existing seasons of Heros. Now our plan is to watch the new episodes each week as they come out. Since that fateful Thursday my roommates and I have watched 45.5hours of Sylar, Mohinder and Claire. We now have pictures of Heros characters dotting our walls and Sylar pictures as our desktop backgrounds. Needless to Say...I AM ADDICTED!!!!!!!! :D

Argh!!!!!!

I am so frustrated!!! I just found out today that the mail man has not been giving me my mail! I am soo upset. I had had a suspicion cause it has been 2 weeks since anything with my name on it has come out of our mail box. But this morning I looked online to see why my textbooks hadn't come yet and that is when I found out that the Postal Service has no clue that I reside in my own apartment. The text books I bought 2 weeks ago were sent to back to the sellers because the mail man just decided not to put the mail in the little box the packages told him to put it in! I am so frustrated!!!!!!!!!! Cause now I have to contact all the sellers, see if they will send it back to me, and some how make sure that I start getting my mail again. It wouldn't be so bad if I knew how to fix it all, but I don't know how to make it better. I did however write a little note to the mail man in hopes that he will start giving me my mail again and knows that still live in the same place! I guess life wouldn't be interesting if we didn't have problems.

First Week of School

I LOVE FLAGSTAFF! It is the best place in the world. The weather is just wonderful right now. I am getting along great with my roommates and I have money! I got $2,600 from FAFSA this semester, $300 was spent on stupid NAU fees, then I spent about $200 on books and $100 on other things like school supplies and food. But I have about $2,ooo left to do with as I please!!!!! So I bout my self a camera! :D I also took a day off of work. The plan is to save it all for emergencies but we will see how that goes :P

This semester there are 6 of us living in once tiny apartment. So far so good, no one has been killed yet so things are going pretty good. I get my own room this semester but you can hardly call it a room. The roof slants so one of my walls is about 2ft high but I am not complaining cause I have my own little space.

For the most part my classes seem like they are going to be pretty easy. I have a statistics class, a computer programing class, two education classes and then a Math class of pure agony! MAT 320W-Foundations of math. Not only is it my junior level writing requirement but it is a proof class. I know 4 people in my class who are taking it again this semester cause the dropped out last semester. My goal for these next 3 months is to pass this class! We are going to have 20pt quizzes every Wednesday and the first week of school was no exception. We only had one day of class before he was testing us!!!! INSANE! The very first day the professor redefined the meaning of a sentence. In case you were wondering a sentence is either true or false. There is no room for opinions in the language of mathematics.

I also am going to be an SI this semester. I am not sure all the details yet but I will go to a MAT 114 class (Quantitative Reasoning) and get to know the material. Then I will hold a session where all the little freshman (who are only a year younger than me) will come and get me to help them on their math HW. Sounds like fun! It will actually be something I can put on my resume so that when I am trying to get a job as a teacher, in 2 years, I can have more to put then "I worked at Jamba Juice!!!"

Oh and how pathetic am I? It is my first real weekend in Flag, my first Friday NOT at work, and I am sitting at home alone. :(

Below is my lovely half room. Notice how the far wall in only a few feet high. I also have my very own TV and DVD player so I can watch movies whenever I want (I doubt that will ever happen but it is there just in case). I also keep my bathroom stuff on my dresser cause there are four of us sharing one bathroom!

This is my beautiful new camera that I bought with my awesome government money. It is water proof and ironically is the same camera Joseph bought this summer before he left. I liked it so much I bought myself one! The best part is that the green one was $10 cheaper than the black one and $15 cheaper than hot pink! :D

My beautiful new hair style, a box die from Walmart and an amazing cut from Mindy :P I have had SO many complements on it. MINDY IS THE BEST!

Doodles

So these are my amazing doodles, the only semi exciting biproduct of my summer school classI know I am really weird! But at least this all gave me an escape from that awful professors voice

You would not believe how much pencil I got all over my hand doing these two. The best is when I would come back from class with pencil all over my forehead!Just in case you ever wondering, all those circles are on the front page of the packet our professor passed out for us to take notes on...I erased the little notes I did have :D
